might i add that the rounded main spring housing would make this an M1911A1, but i cant actually tell because the trigger is also farther back and i cannot see the trigger real well in this image, nor the enlarged ejection port thats on the slide of the A1. also the notches for the safety could be deeper, and one for the slide catch doesnt seem present. the back of the slide looks to be missing the extractor too. although if this is a game model it would make sense.
but i honestly cant say much, this is a great build and something i doubt i can ever replicate
did he actually use it during the war. Cause if he did, the firearm would still have a historical first hand account, which could raise the value of it. But I really dought your looking to sell it. It is a very personal peice for you.
